Thread Woven Buttons–Rachell Baker–Class Pavilion 2–9-9:50am
Ages 12 and older
This is a hands on class in which students will learn two methods of making thread woven buttons.
Bread and Baking Over the Fire–THL Constanza de Sevilla–Authentic Encampment
10-11:30am–Children should have an adult present.
Come and try different breads and baking them over the fire. I will be using an antique waffle iron similar to Renaissance waffle irons also.
Getting to Know an Oseberg Loom–M.Thora Sigurdsdottir–Authentic Encampment
10-11:30am–Ages 14 and up
Come get to know how an Oseberg Loom work and then maybe build your own.
Advanced drumming & rhythm: Doumbek, Tar & Riq–Beatriz de Burgos &
Lord Brian MagUidhir—Bardic–10-11am
Children as young as 10 who are interested are welcome.
In this class we will present more advanced techniques and sounds, introduce and play rhythms with more complex meters. Techniques for frame drums including the tar and riq will be discussed and practiced along with doumbek. Bring your frame drum if you have them for this advanced class.
Tudor/Elizabethan Sweete Bag Embroidered Extravaganza–Lady Guinevere de Barry and Lady Katja Volkhovna–Class Pavilion 1–10a-11:20am
A brief history of uses and production materials of small embroidered pouches and the learning the embroidery stitches to make them. The class will be limited to 15 as there will be 15 kits available. Free will donations are requested. If you would like a hoop, the cost will be $1.
Bara Tape Part 2: Patterning A Garment Using Bara Tapes–Sibillia d’Orange–Class Pavilion 3–10-11am–Ages 14 and up–$1 for materials
We will be patterning a bodice from Alcega in this class. Please bring your own Height, Waist, and Chest tapes.

Come explore what the scribal arts art, how to become a scribe, and how to make a scroll! We will cover the basics of scroll creation in Northshield, along with materials and inspiration! Class participants will also be able to paint their own scroll blank!

This is an open drum practice / jam session. We will be practicing the rhythms and techniques taught in the introductory, intermediate, and advanced drumming classes. Dancers welcome!

Ages 4-99–$0-$5 depending on materials.
Beginners’ fiber projects will be available to stop by and try out. Whipcording, weaving, sewing, and more! Kits will be available to take home for free or a nominal fee. Adults and children (with supervision) welcome.

A meeting for the Kingdom Chronicler, local chroniclers, Kingdom Chronicler Deputies, and anyone interested in learning more about the Chroniclers office, both at the kingdom and local levels. The meeting is office related. Children are free to attend with their adults, but the meeting is not geared towards youth.

Egypto-Syrian Pattern Darning (Embroidery)—Leyla–Class Pavilion 4–2:30-3:50pm—Materials and handout–$1
Pattern darning is one of several counted-thread embroidery techniques evident in textile fragments from the Mamluk era. This technique used to create bands and motifs suitable for clothing and accessories from the 11th to 13th centuries in Egypt and its correlate territories. We’ll stitch samples of three band patterns and one motif. This technique is too fussy for kids.
The Art Of Fur Pt. 3 – Advanced Furrier Technique–Godefroy du Lyon–
Authentic Encampment–3-4pm
In this course we will discuss advanced furrier techniques. This course specifically dives into working with curves, taking a straight pelt/trim and working it around a curve. This course will involve a fair amount of math, a high-school level of algebra and geometry will be required in order to retain and use the information in this course. This will be a lecture style class with examples shown.
