COLLECTION OF CONTACT TRACING INFORMATION NO LONGER REQUIRED
MARCH 7, 2022 SCA COMMUNICATIONS

On 28 February 2022, the Board of Directors removed the Society requirement for collecting contact tracing information at SCA events for Canada and the United States of America. This requirement was based on the Society’s initial North American re-opening plan and conditions have changed. Public health directions must be followed in all jurisdictions.

The following language is required to appear on all North American event notices, flyers, online announcements, and advertisements, as well as being posted in multiple locations (including gate) at any and all SCA-sponsored functions going forward:

Although the SCA complies with all applicable laws to ensure the health and safety of our event participants, we cannot eliminate the risk of exposure to infectious diseases during in-person events. By participating in the in-person events of the SCA, you acknowledge and accept the potential risks. You agree to take any additional steps to protect your own health and safety and those under your control as you believe to be necessary.

Questions or comments should be sent directly to president@sca.org and seneschal@sca.org, or your Kingdom’s Board Ombudsman.
