We gather as a group on Wednesday nights to share fellowship, to learn new skills and attend classes on a variety of topics, and to attend to the business of the barony and see what our friends and fellow recreationists are up to.
Meetings take place at the Waterbury Building, on the northwest corner of Broadway and Central Avenue in Minneapolis. Our space is hosted by the Geek Partnership Society, in their Event Horizon (room 106A). Ample parking is available in the lot adjacent to the building off Van Buren Avenue.
The doors open at 6:30 p.m., with announcements called at 7:00, and close at 9:00. If you are planning to attend for the first time, feel free to contact our chatelaine with any questions you may have.
- First & Second Wednesdays - OPEN
- Third Wednesdays - Business Meeting
- Last Wednesdays
The most laid-back of gatherings, first and second Wednesdays are a great time to come and socialize in an informal setting. Classes may be being taught, or projects for the barony in preparation for events may be being carried out.
As a large barony, we frequently have a number of topics that need our attention and/or discussion. The Seneschal sets the agenda and presides over the meeting, and minutes are taken by the chronicler for publication. Paying members are able to cast votes, and officers provide their monthly reports to the populace. Committee meetings are frequently held after we adjourn. Business meetings are a great opportunity to learn about upcoming events, and to take advantage of volunteer opportunities. If you have business you would like to add to the agenda, please contact the Seneschal
as far in advance as possible.
Informally known as Crafty Wednesdays, attendees bring projects they are working on to share and to make progress on in a group setting. Frequently you will find teachers willing to teach you anything you see happening. Types of labors being performed include but are not limited to fiber arts and sewing, scribal pursuits, limited metal work, and armoring. Projects that the barony is working on as a group can also happen during this time, for which extra hands are always welcome.
